Traditionally, the pit of this Amazonian fruit is used by American Indians against fatigue. They used to suck the guarana or Warana pit during the long hours they spent hunting in the forest. .

Amazonian guarana actually is the plant with the highest concentration of caffeine which improves concentration, performance, wakefulness and attention.

What's the difference with the caffeine in coffee?

The tannins and saponins contained in guarana seeds would act as inhibitors of the harmful side effects of caffeine. Indeed, thanks to them, the diffusion of the active ingredients takes place more slowly (6 to 8 hours). A balance is thus respected due to the complexity of the composition of the seed as a whole, which would not be the case if the caffeine contained in the seed were extracted.
